Job Description: Librarians help people find information. They may be looking for information for school, w
ork or personal reasons. Librarians can work in schools, universities, law firms, medical facilities, corporations and a variety of other places.
Salary Range: Median--$55,370

Education: In addition to having a high school diploma, librarians have 4-year degrees from colleges. Most librarians also have a Masters Degree in Library Science (MLS). Typically it takes 1-2 additional years of schooling to complete a Master of Library Science Degree.

Environment: Librarians work inside in schools, corporations and public libraries. They do not do any work outside. Librarians who work in public libraries and university libraries may have to work on weekends and at night. School librarians have the same vacations and hours as teachers and students.

Outlook:Library jobs are only expected to grow 7% from 2012-2022. Th
at is slower than the rate of growth for other jobs.
